From Bully to Buddy

Alyson was a freshman in high school when she and her mother moved to Greengale. This was shortly after a very messy divorce that put a strain on her relationship with her parents. She took her anger out on others and quickly gained a reputation as a bully. In an effort to give Alyson a fresh start, her mother decided to move to the peaceful town of Greengale.

In truth, Alyson probably would have continued her bullying ways if it had not been for the timely intervention of Jandor Mason. There paths crossed when he stopped her from beating up a smaller student. Far from chastising her, Jandor decided that the temperamental tomboy needed a little guidance.

Alyson was surprised that Jandor immediately included him in his circle of friends and because of his unconditional acceptance, she changed her ways.  What's more, Jandor offered to train her to fight using the collection of weapons he had inherited from his Father. All of her pent-up aggression was channeled into this training and as a result, she became very proficient.

Alyson was one of the original members of the Action and Adventure Club. She immediately took to the concept and loved the thrill of a new challenge. Because of her tomboyish nature, Alyson is bold and fearless and  can hold her own against any of the male members, but she still has a definite feminine side. She gets along with all the girls, and over the years her rough nature has softened significantly.

Jandor trusts Alyson almost as much as he trusts Becky and Allen, and Alyson admires her leader and seeks to emulate him. Secretly, Alyson is attracted to both Jandor and Ace, but keeps her emotional distance from them as it is well known that they are both, in a way, taken.

Commander of Weather

Alyson arrived on Mendala, 6 years in the past on Weather Peak, the place where all the weather of Mendala is controlled. There, the Commander of Weather taught her the mentus of weather mastery. She learned quickly from her mentor and became a weather mistress in an astonishingly short time. However, the Commander of Weather was attacked one day by another weather master, not interested in obtaining the peak or the all powerful weather rod for himself but rather a relic that Alyson knew nothing about. Alyson was forced to flee the mountain and the Commander of Weather was killed. When she returned and found her mentor dead, she knew she had to assume the role of Commander of Weather, but she never forgot the weather master who killed her beloved friend and benefactor.

Findler, the guardian of Glorandor connected her to the Weather Rod, as only a guardian can do, and she officially became the Commander of Weather. The symbol of her rank is a smoky gray crystal that is embedded in her forehead. After an unsuccessful attempt to gain control of the Weather Rod, Davron sent forces to destroy it and when they succeeded, Alyson was almost killed in the process. She reverted to a normal weather mistress after this, but still technically carries her rank.
