Book Of War

An ancient artifact believed to be a legend. The Book of War can be used to create indestructible creatures. These creatures are loyal to whomever is in possession of the book itself.

History

The ancient writings of the epouranals contain the only clues of how the Book of War came into existence. Before Mendala was first inhabited, a rogue spirit of war and hatred roamed freely. Elohim, knowing that he would soon be bringing people to the planet, trapped the spirit of war in a cursed book, what is now known as the Book of War.

The Book of War was then placed in a dimensional void, the empty space between multiple connected dimensions, where no one would disturb it. This void was sealed off from the surrounding dimensions by twenty powerful seals. As long as the seals were in place, no one would be able to reach the Book of War and use its powers.

At the end of the TS era, a mind mage, Jordan Multus, was able to break though the seal on Mendala that protected the dimensional void and claim the Book of War for himself. In addition, he removed the other 19 seals, which was easy to do from inside the dimensional void and distributed them among the leaders of his army. By opening the Book of War, it is said that he released the rouge spirit within and because of this, Mendala has been plunged into unending war ever since.

When Multus was defeated by the Five Warriors, the Book of War was thought to have been lost. However, 10,000 years later, it was rediscovered by a mind mage named Davron with similar goals of world domination as his predecessor Multus. There is no record of exactly how and where Davron found the Book of War.

The Seals

Once again, only epouranal writings reveal any knowledge about the seals of the Book of War. There are twenty seals in total and they were fashioned to protect the void that held the Book of War and to help maintain the stability of the surrounding dimensions. The seals are extremely powerful and exist outside of time and space. In their natural form, they have no real defined substance or shape, however when brought within the confines of a dimension, they take the form of small golden medallions.

Each seal is said to be bound to a mortal and only that person can harness the power of the seal, these people are often referred to as "seal bearers". It is said that only the twenty seals that were used to quarantine the Book of War to begin with have the power to contain it and even possibly destroy it.

The seal bearers of the Book of War are distinguished by a special mark that appears on their hand whenever they come near the book or one of its monsters. In addition, seal bearers are the only people with the ability to destroy a creature of the Book of War. (For more information, see the main article on the [Seal Bearers])

It has been alluded to in the writings of the epouranals that the twenty seals of the Book of War are not the only seals in existence. There may be other sets of seals throughout the dimensional fabric, serving other purposes but there is no way to know if this is true.

Creatures of the Book of War

The creatures of the Book of War come in various shapes and sizes. Each creature takes a certain amount of energy to create; the more powerful the creature the more energy it takes to create. This means that whoever uses the book is using their own adimus energy and life force and it can be very draining if not done in moderation. Still, even with this limitation, thousands of monsters can be created at once and they are all practically indestructible.

There are two notable exceptions to this: Creatures of the Book of War can be destroyed by animals and by seal bearers. In addition, seal bearers who are in possession of their physical seal have the power to destroy all creatures created by the Book of War if they touch the book itself. It is also important to note that a seal bearer cannot use the Book of War to creature monsters.

The creatures of the Book of War are not real. They have no soul, require no food or sleep. When one of these creatures is killed, it disappears. Nothing remains except any items it was holding at the time such as money and sometimes weapons.
