Epsilon is a Dimensional Gatekeeper, responsible for maintaining balance and order among the dimensions. He is also the creator and controller of the [Five Jewels]. It is not known whether or not there are other dimensional gatekeepers as Epsilon is the only one ever mentioned in Mendalian history. Epsilon's staff is the source of his dimensional powers.
Epsilon has appeared on Mendala on multiple recorded occasions
The Exodus
In the earliest spiritual texts, it is recorded that the first Mendalians were orphans of various worlds doomed to destruction by Elohim. These people were singled out to be saved from destruction and they were brought to Mendala. Epsilon is said to have been the facilitator of this transport, traveling to the worlds that Elohim designated and bringing those to be spared to Mendala.
The events recorded by the Tegere family, tell of how Rainbow Mountain came to be. It is said that they met Epsilon and he explained how he had gathered certain special creatures inside the mountain and that they were all doomed to extinction because they were the last of their kind. Epsilon created rainbow mountain to protect these creatures and give them eternal life as their existence was vital to everyone.
Acme was created by accident. It was the result of a dangerous adimus experiment that caused the death of many and the transformation of hundreds of people into cartoons. This catastrophic event had wide sweeping repercussions and threatened to consume the entire planet and possibly beyond in an ever-spreading cartoon state that would break down the rules of reality. Epsilon appeared shortly after the adimus accident and used his dimensional powers to create the town of Acme and seal it so that the cartoon effects could not spread.
It is said, but not confirmed, that the phenomenon that caused the creation of the Lost Plains and the secret city of Hidden Valley, within was triggered by an act of Epsilon. However the reasons for this have not been chronicled anywhere if it is indeed true.
It is said, but not confirmed, that the events leading to the recovery of the Gladeus, were triggered by Epsilon. It is believed that he is the one that told the fishermen who recovered the sword where to go. However there are no clear records on exactly how this happened.
When Multus forced his way into the dimensional void, he caused a rift. Epsilon sensed this unstable rift and used his powers to try to shut down all dimensional transport by removing power from the five jewels. When this failed to seal the rift, Epsilon went to the dimensional void to stop Multus from removing the Book of War and to repair the rift.
Multus was able to use his army and the creatures from the Book of War to overwhelm the gatekeeper and break his staff, the main source of his power, reducing him to almost mortal status.
Epsilon escaped from the void to Mendala and solicited the help of the Fantasma and the five warriors to retrieve the five jewels which could be used to restore dimensional balance and banish Multus and the Book of War to the Dark Pits.
Because only a source of devine power could activate the jewels, it was up to the Daughter of the Sun to control them as her powers were granted by Elohim.
Epsilon returned to the dimensional void with the five warriors but was lost in the resulting battle when he attempted to use his remaining dimensional strength to keep the void from collapsing.
