Ever The "Good Guy"

Jandor craved adventure his whole life, a trait that is most likely attributed to his late father, James Mason. He was a weapon's enthusiast, and had a collection that was passed down through several generations. Even at a young age, James taught his son how to handle many of the medieval weapons, an activity his mother grudgingly approved of. Jandor's father died when he was only 10-years-old, but his passion for weapons and adventure lives on in his son.

Jandor was extremely popular growing up. Most of the boys wanted to be like him, and many of the girls had crushes on him but Jandor never seemed to notice any of this. He was always kind and good natured to everyone, and never took his popularity for granted. He was the type of person who would intervene when a bully was picking on a smaller student or stick up for someone if they were being teased for being different. Jandor has always had a strong moral code, and felt it was important to do what was right even if it cost him something. Almost everyone respected him, and those who didn't rarely had the courage to challenge him.

Jandor grew up with two close friends, Becky Gabbie and Allen Guardman. There friendship developed because at a young age, both Jandor and Becky would spend their after school time at the Guardman household. Though many girls had crushes on Jandor, including Becky, she was the only one who really took the time to get to know him. In the same way, Allen never felt intimidated by Jandor like many of the other boys, so he was also able to develop a close friendship when they were young. Because of this, Jandor has always trusted  and respected Becky and Allen more than anyone.

The Action & Adventure Club

Unfortunately for adventure-hungry Jandor, he lived in the small town of Greengale, a place where nothing of any significant interest ever happens. He often tried to find excitement in the woods around the town, but nothing ever quenched his thirst for danger. This was the reason why he formed the Action and Adventure Club at age 15.

The original members were Becky Gabbie, Allen Guardman, William Jenkins, Ace Eastman, Derrick Banks, Bernie Steward, and Alyson Silvers. Together the group raised money in various ways so that they could leave Greengale and go on exciting trips. Mrs. Guardman agreed to be the group's chaperon on these trips. Over the three years that Jandor lead the group it grew to twenty members total. Jandor was the president, Becky, the Vice President, and Allen, club secretary. Each year the group was allowed to vote for new leadership, but they always decided to let the trio remain in charge.

Jandor is an extremely democratic leader. All of the major decisions of the group are voted on, and he requires unanimous agreement before they can move on. However, the three leaders do make all of the plans and smaller decisions after the group has voted on a main course of action. Jandor, for his part, does not care about details, being a man of action, he is often only focused on the "exciting" parts of their plans. He leaves the details to Becky and Allen.  Still, Jandor does care about his team, and always makes sure that they are safe and prepared for anything their various outings might bring.
