Currently the Sunnin Social System has been absorbed by the Fantasmal Government in an attempt to keep it's social programs running, however there is speculation that the return of the Daughter of the Sun will allow the organization's autonomy to be restored.
History
The Sunnin social System was started by [Angela Terrain], the 7th Daughter of the Sun
Angela lived on a farm in a remote village nestled in the Candovia mountain range. She knew nothing about being a Daughter of the Sun as none of what had happened to [Ester Fantas] had been passed down through the generations. In addition, the current Fantasma knew nothing of the Daughters of the Sun or the legacy that was given to Ester.
In the 4th month of 1,562 TS, Angela had an unexpected visitor to her small farm: [Henry Stokenshire], the extremely wealthy and world renowned tailor. Henry revealed to her that three days prior he had been visited in a dream by a messenger of [Elohim] that told him that he had to help Angela fulfill her purpose as Daughter of the Sun.
The messenger also explained that Angela was a descendant of Ester and [Sarah Fantas]. Henry knew that Sarah Fantas was the wife of [Terrance Stokenshire] and that Sarah had single handedly helped Terrance and his entire family be raised out of slavery. In addition, Sarah had used her influence in Fantasmal Mountain to jump start Terrance's tailoring career. It was because of this that the Stokenshire name had grown in status throughout the centuries. The Stokenshires were careful to pass this story down through their family so as to always remind them of their humble beginnings and the blessing that had caused them to become so prosperous.
Feeling an immediate sense of indebtedness to Angela's line, Henry immediately left to seek her out and help her in any way that he could. Angela, however, was extremely reluctant to believe that she was destined to serve some greater purpose than tending her family's farm. She was 37 and had never left the small village she was raised in and had no desire to deal with global problems or politics.
However, Angela could not run away from her destiny. The night after Henry found her, she received another visitor, the resurrected first Daughter of the Sun, Ester Fantas. Ester explained that because of her own failure to properly train her daughter in the ways of the Daughter of the Sun, she had been granted a gift by Elohim: the ability to return to her old existence in order to teach her descendants the ways of the Daughter of the Sun.
Ester taught Angela about the unique powers and abilities granted to the Daughter of the Sun as well as how to be a diplomat and how to protect herself. With Ester's guidance Henry Stokenshire's financial assistance , Angela was able to start the Sunnin Social System an organization dedicated to social welfare, global peace, and aiding all those in need including children, homeless, widows, sick, orphaned, and abandoned. It was first and only worldwide social services endeavor ever started.
Angela not only received financing from Henry, but from six of his other cousins, each world renowned in their fields. The entire Stokenshire clan rallied together to aid the Daughter of the Sun as soon as Henry had explained all that had been told to him by the messenger of Elohim. The Stokenshires also pulled in resources from their other wealthy friends. Because they were so highly influential, no one questioned donating to this previously non-existent public service agency. In addition almost everyone in her small village agreed to help Angela build up her agency.
With the help of her friends, the Stokenshires, and dozens of wealthy contributers, the Sunnin Social System was up and running within two months. One of the first major projects the SSS undertook was ending a long standing feud between two large cities, Eggmount and Planturn in southern Candovia. The two cities had been overrun with gangs that constantly wared with one another. Angela not only successfully mediated the dispute, she helped disband the gangs, brought in much needed medical aid and food reserves and helped revitalize the dying economy. Within a year both cities had a complete turn around.
This tremendous success roused the attention of the Fantasma and the Sunnin Social System gained recognition throughout the world. News of the Daughter of the Sun and her unique abilities spread and people all over were clamoring for the aid of her organization. Soon, Angela had been elevated to the position of a world leader. The Daughter of the Sun was considered as influential and respected as the Fantasma and even more effective at solving the growing number of world issues. Within a few years, the Fantasmal Government shut down its own floundering social service programs and diverted the money to the Sunnin Social System.
The Daughters of the Sun continued to run the Sunnin Social System throughout the TS era with the help of the ever faithful Stokenshires and contributions from all over the world. The social services provided by the organization expanded. There is no doubt that many of the worlds current problems such as homelessness, world hunger, and perhaps even war would have been completely eliminated if it had not been for the disappearance of the [Ruth Lowens] who became Daughter of the Sun during the [War].
Just before obtaining the Book Of War, Multus triggered a [tempeston], or death night, which killed the current Daughter of the Sun, Jasmine Lowens. It is unclear how this happened and some scholars even speculate as to whether or not the two events (the tempeston and Jasmine's sudden death) were even related. Ruth, who became the Daughter of the Sun after her mother's death, along with her four friends, collective known as the famous [Five Warriors] were charged with stopping Multus from using the Book of War to control Mendala. Though they succeeded in defeating Multus, the five warriors also disappeared just after the epic battle.
With Ruth gone and presumed dead, many waited for the rise of the next Daughter of the Sun but none came. After so many years with no leader, the Sunnin Social System fell into disorganization and as a last ditch effort to save it, the current Fantasma absorbed the organization into the Fantasmal Government.
Ten thousand yeas passed after the Great War before another Daughter of the Sun appeared, Ashley Summerson. She was a native of Earth and it is speculated that this is where Ruth and her comrades disappeared to. With the return of the Daughter of the Sun, it is anticipated that the Sunnin Social System will soon be restored. However only time will tell.
Major Agencies
The Sunnin Social System has several major agencies that handle the bulk of the social services provided by the organization.
Sunnitration
Sunnitration is the agency that handles arbitration between squabbling, feuding, or warring principalities. In many cases arbitration is handled by Sunnitration staff before the Daughter of the Sun becomes directly involved. This agency became almost nonexistent when absorbed into the Fantasmal Government after the disappearance of Ruth Lowens during the [Great War].
SunniEd
This agency provides public education throughout 85% of the world. Before the establishment of the Sunnin Education System, mentus and mandamus education was always handled through private schools and only the wealthy could learn mentus and mandamus. The public schools provided by SunniEd allow any child to receive a high quality education at very little cost, effective allowing almost anyone to learn basic mentus and mandamus.
During the TS era, SunniEd even extended to [Masters School] level education by establishing hundreds of public masters schools throughout the world. However this program collapsed when the Sunnin Social System was reorganized under the Fantasmal Government after the disappearance of Ruth Lowens during the Great War.
SunniAid
SunniAid is the agency responsible for disaster relief and emergency aid. This agency was in far greater demand before the erection of the [Weather Rod] which eliminated almost all weather related natural disasters. SunniAid still provides aid to war torn countries and continues to function well under the Fantasmal Government.
SunniCare
This is the main welfare agency of the Sunnin Social system and handles the various needs of those who cannot take care of themselves or those who are in poverty. SunniCare provides food, money, clothes, job placement, and even homes to those who need temporary or long term social welfare. When the Sunnin Social System was absorbed into the Fantasmal Government, SunniCare still continued to function well, however many of the programs under this agency were cut after a few centuries due to lack of funding and support.
LiberCare
Named after Daughter of the Sun [April Liber], this agency handles the various issues of child welfare including orphans, children of divorced parents, children who have been abused or neglected, children with extreme diseases or inflictions, gifted children, and other children with special needs.
When the Sunnin Social System was absorbed into the Fantasmal Government only the orphan and child abuse prevent programs survived.
HealerNet
This agency was established in 36,424 TS under [Rachel Eastwood]'s tenure as Daughter of the Sun. Her dream was universal free health and medical care for anyone who needed it. She created HealerNet offices around the world where anyone could go to get the medical services they need or to be trained in basic healing. HealerNet was the most ambitious of all the Sunnin Social Services and by 39,733 TS HealerNet was still only effectively providing for 67% of those who needed health care. After the Sunnin Social System was absorbed into the Fantasmal Government, HealerNet all but disappeared.
