William has always been extremely vibrant and carefree. He takes very few things seriously and believes life isn't worth living if there isn't any excitement or surprises. He is best friends with Mike Bond and Ace Eastman. The trio are commonly referred to as the "Three Musketeers."

Williams exuberant and animated personality is taken literally when he is accidentally quickened into the past. He finds himself in the city of Acme, which is entirely populated with cartoons. William found that he was a cartoon as well. Normally, when a "real" person enters the city's boundaries they are animated temporarily. However when William tried to leave the city, he found that he was unable to do so. The cartoon citizens are bound to the city and unable to leave; which meant that William was no longer a regular mortal, he had been transformed into a cartoon.

Since it was impossible for him to leave the city, William worked with the other toons in [Acme Productions] for the months he was stuck in Mendala's past. The director noted his flamboyant personality and based an action/adventure show on him. He donned the prosona "Will Dangerous" and his show became an instant success. When Jandor and Daniel find him, the director agrees to give special dispensation to William so that he can leave the boundaries of the city. In the real world, William can make himself appear "normal" but he still has all of his cartoon properties which makes him a force to be reckoned with.
